This adorable baby girl certainly put me to work today! Though freshly napped, she just did not want to smile for the camera! Mom and Dad put up a tough fight to get some giggles and smiles out of her- lots of tickles, silly noises, singing songs, and playful tosses in the air- you name it, they tried it. Baby S has quite the personality- with every facial expression in the book to go along with it! Hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

Beautiful Kleinburg- Family Portrait Time!

This wonderful mom is the organizer of the Woodbridge Mom2Mom Sale. After I had a booth at the show back in May, we've been talking about doing some family portraits for her adorable little family. We're both busy mama's, so we FINALLY found a weekend to get together. We headed up the the beautiful area of Kleinburg and started snapping. So many great spots up there-a photographer's dream! This mom even had little tickets I got to give the kids throughout the shoot if they were good, that they were able to redeem for prizes & treats afterwards- what a nifty idea I might be stealing! Aurora Arboretum- Family Portrait Time!

Back in August, a contest was held with RockPretty Baby via their Facebook Fanpage, where fans submitted their children's photos, invited their friends and family members to vote, and the winner won a $100 gift certificate from RockPretty Baby, and free standard session with Megan Battersby Photography. Today, that lucky winner got to redeem her free session for an awesome family portrait session in the Aurora Arboretum! This beautiful area was very sentimental to the family, as their home backs onto it, and has some really unique features. I had a blast with this fun family, and I hope they enjoy their sneak peek!

Sweet Baby K

There is nothing like starting off your morning with a fabulously fresh baby! 10 day old baby K had a gorgeous head of hair, and TONS of hilarious facial expressions. It was really an honour to do the photos today, as I have already photographed baby K's two older cousins this year-Baby M born in March, and Baby M born in July. It has been amazing to be a part of watching this family grow!

Today I had the honour of photographing this 10 day old beauty. Baby M has to be one of the sweetest little girls I've ever seen! She christened a few new backdrops today, along with being my first baby model to actually fit my favourite newborn peanut wrap. Congratulations K & C, baby M is so lucky to have 2 amazing mommies! This gorgeous boy certainly put me to work today! Between all the feedings and poop explosions, this little guy gave me some gorgeous shots! His grip was so tight that even when in a deep slumber, he wouldn't loosen up his little fingers. Mommy J and Daddy C were fun to work with and were very patient with their little man. Big and beautiful baby O!

Baby O was welcomed into this world on Father's Day, and tipped the scale at more than 10 pounds! Her daddy (whom I used to work with back in my high school days at DQ) and mommy are still glowing with how proud they are to have such a beautiful baby girl.

She was a feisty one to say the least- at 5 weeks old, baby O wasn't the easiest to get to sleep, so we had some fun capturing her beautiful alert eyes. After numerous feeding/burping/rocking attempts, baby O finally fell asleep in daddy's arms. Check out her sneak peek!

Hello Summer!

Nearly a month has flown by, and I haven't posted any sneak peeks! It's been a busy month to say the least, and unfortunately, the blog gets put on the back burner.

One of my closest friends, Amie, was visiting Toronto for the week, and asked if I might do an impromptu session for her. She's 8 months preggo with #2, and has a 2 year little girl already. We headed out to High Park, and then back to my place for a few "studio" styled maternity portraits.

Adrianne & Michael Are Married!

I have know Adrianne for a few years, going back to our University of Windsor days and working at a tiny little hole in the wall party store. Thankfully, we owe it all to Facebook for keeping us in touch. When Adrianne and Michael got engaged last year, she contacted me in regards to doing engagement photos. Having never done any, I jumped at the opportunity. It definitely helps having a fun couple to work with. Shortly after that session, Adrianne asked if I would do the wedding photos. Though nervous that I've never formally done any wedding portraits before, how could I say no?

Baby J- It's a... BOY!!

It has been quite some time since I've photographed a newborn boy- all my sessions lately have been with girls, and BOY OH BOY was this session an adventure! Let's just say Mommy has quite a bit of laundry to do!

See that smile? Melts my heart every time I'm able to capture something as precious as that!

Hello Out There!

According to the state of my blog, I have completely fallen off the face of the earth. But that's not the case! The past few months have been incredibly busy, and I just haven't been able to sit down and dedicate time to getting this blog rolling.

Now that my little one is back at daycare after a brief stay at home (boo ear infections and fevers!), this mommy has some time to spare and add some sneak peeks of my most recent sessions this year.

Back to school...

Well I didn't quite go back to school, but I did attend an amazing workshop in Ottawa held by Amber Shereen, Ottawa's Maternity, Newborn Baby, and Children Photographer. It was an amazing experience being able to work in her natural light studio with a gorgeous set of twins, and then with another little cutie with some studio lighting.

Re-launching in September!

Megan Battersby Photography is happy to announce its official re-launch in September! No dates have been set yet, but this summer has been so overwhelming with photo sessions, family time, and most recently, becoming a real business! There is a lot of behind the scenes work involved, which meant laying low for a while to work out some nitty gritty details, but in the end, it's definitely going to be worth it! The blog will still be used for sneak peek updates, and other useful information, but my main website (which I'm so excited to get started on!) will be my new pride and joy, showcasing some great work that was captured this summer.

Thank you to all my friends, family and clients who have been so supportive over the past few months while I endeavored on this path. The stress, sleepless nights, countless hours of editing & proofing have been completely worth it.
